2015 Guat's UP

Join us in raising money for the 2015 Summer Missions to Guatemala!  Students are raising money to build homes, to purchase water filters, and to sponsor children for school!  Donate today!

Students participated in a Water Walk to raise money and awareness for those in Guatemala who do not have clean water.  The students had to walk a couple of miles with a 5 gallon bucket of water!  The team with the most water left in the bucket at the end won! The water filters will be delivered to families in need this summer by student teams.

Tortilla Making Contest
Many indigenous Guatemalans suffer from extreme malnutrition.  They mostly survive on tortillas, salt, and coffee.  The students experienced only some of the difficulties making homemade corn tortillas.  The 2015 Guatemala teams will also serve at a feeding center where malnourished children come for a meal once a week.  Help us feed the malnourished by donating today!

Many Guatemalans have to cook over a fire or  a wood burning stove!  The wood burning stoves sometimes causes great health concerns because their homes fill with smoke.  The students are raising money to build homes in Guatemala, and with the home the families will receive a stove that will help them cook without the concern of smoke.  Donate and help today!

Students helped to prepare and cook a traditional Guatemalan meal!  Thanks to your donations they could afford to buy a meal for their family/team and later shop at the Tiende de Guat's Up!  They could purchase traditional snacks and drinks for the movie they watched.  The movie, "Living on One Dollar", was about how difficult it really is to be a Guatemalan and live on so little.  Check it out on Netflix or Youtube!

After a great night's rest, students helped to prepare breakfast.  Thank you to Michelle and Matt Rodgers for coordinating and cooking the meals!  We enjoyed beans, eggs, fruit, and corn tortillas for breakfast!

Students are working hard this morning to prepare for the Sharon Spring Fling.  All proceeds will go to the 2015 Guatemala mission projects.

Thank you Sharon Baptist Church!  We appreciate your help to raise the funds for the 2015 Guatemala Mission projects!
